¡El estudio SOL continúa!

Estimados Participantes del SOL:

Gracias por haber hecho El Estudio de Salud de la Comunidad Hispana/Estudio de Latinos (HCHS/SOL, por sus siglas en inglés) un gran éxito. Con su ayuda hemos podido obtener información sobre los factores que influyen en enfermedades tales como el derrame cerebral, la diabetes, las enfermedades del pulmón y del corazón en los hispanos. Los Institutos Nacionales de la Salud han renovado el estudio gracias a su exitosa contribución para un mejor conocimiento de la salud de la comunidad hispana. Necesitamos su valioso y continuo apoyo como participante. Por lo tanto, nos gustaría invitarle a regresar para una tercera visita que durará aproximadamente 3 horas, no tendrá ningún costo.  Tenga en cuenta que la duración de su visita puede extenderse si elige participar en cualquiera de nuestros estudios auxiliares disponibles para los que es elegible.

 La visita incluirá pruebas de salud tales como:

 •       Presión arterial

•       Prueba de azúcar en la sangre para la diabetes

•       Prueba de colesterol y de otras grasas en la sangre   

•       Medidas de peso, estatura y grasa en el cuerpo

•       Prueba de la función del riñón

•       Cuestionarios de salud

 

El día de su visita usted recibirá un incentivo monetario de $100 para compensar su tiempo y recibirá los resultados de sus exámenes. Se le darán resultados a su médico, si usted lo autoriza.

 

Habrá transporte disponible dependiendo del lugar donde viva. Estamos localizados en el mismo lugar donde realizó su visita anterior de SOL, en el 1120 NW 14 Street. Piso 7 Miami, FL.

The SOL study continues!

Dear SOL Participants:

Thank you for having made the Hispanic Community Health Study / Study of Latinos (HCHS / SOL) a major success. With your help we have been able to find out about the factors that influence diseases such as stroke, diabetes, lung and heart diseases in Hispanic. Because your contribution to our understanding of health and illness in the Hispanic community was so successful, the National Institutes of Health has renewed the study. We need your continued support as a valued participant. We would therefore like you to participate in a third visit that will last about 3 hours at no cost. Please note, the length of your visit may be extended if you chose to participate in any of our available ancillary studies for which you are eligible.

                                     The third clinic visit will include health tests such as:

• Blood Pressure

• Blood sugar test for diabetes

• Cholesterol test and other blood fats assessment

• Weight, height and body fat assessment

• Kidney Function Test

• Health Questionnaires

 

You will receive a monetary incentive$ 100 the day of your visit to compensate for your time and the results of your health tests will be provided to you and your doctor with your permission.

Transportation will be provided depending upon your current location. We are located in the same place of your previous SOL visit at 1120 NW 14 Street 7^th floor Miami, FL.
