September 15th thru October 15th is National Hispanic Heritage Month. During this month we celebrate Hispanic culture, values and the contributions of Americans of Hispanic origin. Hispanic heritage month is celebrated during this month since many Latin American countries celebrate their independence during this time, among them Costa Rica, El
Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico and
Chile and because on October 12th we commemorate Columbus Day, the day when the Americas were discovered by Columbus. Check the
