September is National Cholesterol Awareness Month





 Cholesterol is a preventable risk factor for cardiovascular disease. The HCHS/SOL study showed that 52% of Hispanic men and 37% of Hispanic women of all origins had high cholesterol levels values. High cholesterol levels were more prevalent among men compared to women, among those 45 and older and more frequent among South Americans, Central Americans and Cubans compared to other Hispanic Groups.
